CBD Benefits

To date, researchers have identified over 100 cannabinoids in the cannabis plant. The most well-known and studied cannabinoids include THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) and CBD (cannabidiol), but there are many others with potential therapeutic benefits.

CBD has been widely studied for its anti-inflammatory, anti-anxiety and anti-seizure properties. While more research is needed to confirm the benefits of CBD definitively, existing research demonstrates it can be an effective treatment against these conditions.

Best High CBD Strains in Canada

  • Critical Mass: With roughly 6% THC and 9% CBD, critical mass is a great high CBD strain available in Canada. This strain was specifically bred by Dinafem seeds to be therapeutic and help with conditions such as anorexia, insomnia, muscle pain and depression.
  • Charlottes Web: This high-CBD strain gained notoriety after it was demonstrated to help a young girl named Charlotte Figi manage her epilepsy. Charlotte's web contains 12% CBD and only 1% THC. This strain was bred by the Stanley Brothers of Colorado and can be found at dispensaries throughout Canada.
  • Harlequin: is a sativa strain known for its low THC and high CBD content. Harlequin contains 9% CBD and around 5% THC making it a great choice for those who want to experience the therapeutic benefits of CBD without feeling overly intoxicated. Users of Harlequin have reported feeling focused, energetic and uplifted after consuming the strain.
  • North Star CBD: Bred by AltaVie Cannabis, North Sar CBD is a personal favourite and one of the best high CBD strains in Canada. This strain typically has a CBD-to-THC ratio of around 18:1, which means that it contains very little THC and is unlikely to produce any psychoactive effects. Instead, it is often used for its therapeutic properties, including its ability to reduce anxiety, relieve pain, and alleviate inflammation.

Is CBD Flower Rare?

CBD is not necessarily rare in cannabis plants, but its abundance can vary depending on the strain of cannabis. There are strains of cannabis that have been specifically bred to have high levels of CBD, often referred to as "CBD strains." These high CBD strains have become highly popular in Canada in recent years due to their supposed therapeutic benefits.

CBD Weed vs. CBD Oil

There are different benefits between smoking CBD weed and ingesting CBD oil, as the method of consumption can affect the onset time and intensity of the effects.

When smoking CBD weed, the effects are typically felt within minutes and can last for a couple of hours. Smoking CBD weed can provide fast relief for symptoms such as anxiety, pain, and nausea. Additionally, smoking CBD weed may offer a more full-spectrum effect, as the plant contains various cannabinoids and terpenes that work together to produce therapeutic effects.

On the other hand, ingesting CBD oil can take longer to feel the effects, as it has to be metabolized by the body before it enters the bloodstream. However, the effects of ingesting CBD oil may last longer, and the dosing can be more precise than with smoking CBD weed. Additionally, CBD oil can be added to food or drinks, making it a discreet and convenient way to consume CBD.
